How Can severe Lower Back Pain Along With Fever Be Treated?

I started with severe lower back pain 5 days ago. It has been accompanied with some spasms which take me to my knees. During the 5 days the pain has moved upward to my waist and across my hips. In the last two days I have had chills and now a temp of 100 degrees. My question is, should I go to the emergency room tonight to be checked, call my GP tomorrow, or simply wait it out a few days more?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It would be best, in light of the fact that the pain is severe and associated with fever and chills, for you to be seen as so possible particularly if there are no symptoms pointing to viral illnesses such as cough/cold or stomach flu

Both of these can cause back pain or other muscle pain but no are no symptoms indicating that either of these are present.

I hope this helps
